Railroad Safety

Trains don't follow set schedules - anytime can be train time. Trains can't stop quickly, but you can. To be safe around railroads follow these simple rules to the left of the page.

Remember, to stay alive around trains, you must stay alert. The safety informed on this site provided by Operation Lifesaver, a national, non-profit public education program dedicated to ending collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and along railroad corridors. For more information, contact North Carolina Operation Lifesaver in Raleigh, NC, at 919-831-3006
